List of all WWE releases so far in May 2025
It was rumored that major cuts were coming internally in WWE, and this is something that happens to shake things up as well as to presumably cut costs. There usually happen to be cuts behind the scenes as well, but those get less publicity.
However, the list of superstars released this year is nothing short of shocking because of some of the star power. We aren’t just talking about the main roster, either. Here is the list of WWE superstars released so far
![]() Braun Strowman reacts after shocking WWE release for the second time Strowman has been released by WWE before. This is the second time that he has been let go by the company, with the other time coming back in 2021. This time, it comes as more of a shock. The star was hurt last year during his feud with Bronson Reed and was left injured after their Last Monster Standing match despite winning. Since then, he has been seen in the company, but has not really gotten the massive push that fans expected. Braun Strowman has now sent a message reacting to the release. He put a picture of a drink on his X/Twitter post, with a picture of the horizon as well. While Strowman did not write anything to express his thoughts, the horizon in the background and the drink in his hand seem to be a symbolic gesture that he will be going on a break. | ![]() WWE star heartbroken during tonight's releases; sends multiple cryptic tweets and takes aim at Roman Reigns A WWE star&’s latest X/Twitter activity and his recent jibe at Roman Reigns took fans by surprise. FROM THE RUMOR MILL
Triple H connected to shocking WWE releases
WWE has been going through multiple releases at this time. So far, Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance, Riley Osborne, Cora Jade, Jakara Jackson, Gigi Dolin, Gallus, and Eddy Thorpe have all been released. The releases came from nowhere, but now it’s presumed to be the cost-cutting releases that the company takes part in after WrestleMania, on almost an annual basis.
Sean Ross Sapp was live on the Fightful YouTube channel to talk about all the releases taking place ahead of, and during WWE SmackDown tonight. There, he talked about how Triple H was connected to the releases. He noted that should Triple H have wanted to keep any of the released stars in the company, then they would still be there, and not released from the company.
ANALYSIS CORNER
WWE’s next big premium live event is almost here. The 20th edition of Backlash will take place in St. Louis on May 10. The show is already set to feature several major stars such as Becky Lynch, Lyra Valkyria, John Cena, and Randy Orton. However, there is one superstar who will seemingly miss the event.
According to reports, it is unlikely that Roman Reigns will be on the card. Despite never being advertised, this is a surprise to some, as there was a belief that he would team up with CM Punk to take on the newly formed duo of Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker at the PLE. The heel pair, of course, would be managed by Paul Heyman. However, just because the OTC is potentially missing the show, it doesn’t mean he can’t be replaced.
