TOP STORIES TODAY
El Hijo del Vikingo and Chad Gable are set to face each other at the Worlds Collide event. The two stars are going to end up in a big match, and as it turns out, it's going to be for a championship, as spoiled by the company earlier today during RAW. Unfortunately, in a huge botch, WWE has leaked a title change.
Currently, El Hijo del Vikingo is not a champion. However, he is going to face Alberto Del Rio for the AAA Mega Championship on May 31. Del Rio is the current holder of the title. Now, WWE has advertised that the title will be on the line when Gable faces Vikingo.
After being absent since WrestleMania 41, Cody Rhodes returned at Saturday Night's Main Event. He decided to interfere after John Cena came out to help Logan Paul defeat Jey Uso in the main event of the night. Cena was intent on ruining wrestling once again by making Logan Paul the new World Heavyweight champion, given that he's a YouTuber by origin. In the end, he was able to prevent it and had Paul and Cena retreat. Now, Rhodes is set to face Cena and Paul while teaming with Uso himself. During RAW, that match was confirmed, but a major announcement was also made about Rhodes. It was reported that he would be launching his new podcast, which would be featured on WWE's YouTube channel. The company will be hosting the podcast every Wednesday. | Gable was involved in a qualifying bout for the WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match. The star faced two others he's made enemies of recently in Penta and Dragon Lee. It was a match where, if he won, Gable would get a chance to finally get what he was looking for: a world title shot. If he won the match, then he could win the Men's Money in the Bank briefcase, which could get him what he needs. Unfortunately, it was not to be. He lost the match thanks to interference from Vikingo. Before that, though, he landed badly on his neck and was hurt. There was a moment where Penta was hitting him with a piledriver-like move, and he seemed to bend the wrong way, resulting in him landing on his neck. He looked like he was hurt and a little unfocused after the move. |
FROM THE RUMOR MILL
WWE presented its first-ever all-women's PLE in October 2018, and ever since, fans and talents have called on officials to book Evolution II. The date was just confirmed for Sunday, July 13, at State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Saturday Night's Main Event XL will be held the day before at the same venue. Two highlights from Evolution I were Becky Lynch retaining the SmackDown Women's Championship over Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing Match, and Bayley teaming with Sasha Banks (Mercedes Mone) and Natalya to defeat The Riott Squad.
The Role Model vs. The Man is currently in the works as a continuation of the WrestleMania 41 storyline. PWN's Cory Hays reported that WWE officials have discussed Bayley vs. Becky Lynch for the upcoming Evolution II PLE.
