TOP STORIES TODAY

On SmackDown, WWE aired a promo recapping the iconic rivalry between CM Punk and John Cena ahead of their Night of Champions showdown. However, fans quickly noticed a major edit that raised eyebrows.

In the segment featuring CM Punk’s legendary Pipebomb promo, Vince McMahon’s name, originally part of the speech, was completely removed. While the rest of the line and Cena’s name remained intact, the sudden erasure of McMahon’s mention stood out. The move appears to be a deliberate attempt by WWE to distance current programming from its former chairman, surprising long-time viewers familiar with the original moment.

John Cena lost in the main event of SmackDown when he hit Ron Killings with the WWE Title. As CM Punk stormed the ring to retaliate, Cena countered with a low blow and delivered two more brutal title shots before slamming Punk through a table.

Standing tall, Cena took to the mic and delivered a scathing “pipe bomb” of his own, echoing Punk’s infamous promo from years ago. He sarcastically praised Punk for being the “greatest bulls***ter in the world” and claimed Punk had fooled fans into believing he was the Best in the World. Cena even went a step further by calling out Claudio Castagnoli, Nic Nemeth, and Matt Cardona, blurring the lines between storyline and reality.

The heated rivalry between Tiffany Stratton and Nia Jax intensified on SmackDown. After weeks of bad blood, the two came face-to-face once again, and Jax unleashed her fury with a spinebuster and two crushing leg drops on the WWE Women’s Champion.

As Naomi tried to seize the moment and cash in her contract, Jax dragged her away, preventing the attempt. The confrontation escalated when Stratton recovered and shoved Naomi off the apron, sending her crashing into Jax. With both challengers down, Tiffany stood tall to close the segment, proving she’s still in control despite the chaos around her.

FROM THE RUMOR MILL

Jey Uso made history at WrestleMania 41 by defeating Gunther to win his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship. He went on to defend the title against top stars like Seth Rollins and Logan Paul, but his reign came to an end just 51 days later when Gunther reclaimed the gold by choking him out on RAW.

According to Dave Meltzer's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jey’s title run was always meant to be brief. WWE reportedly planned the transition well in advance, ensuring Gunther regained the championship ahead of Goldberg’s rumored retirement match, setting the stage for a future marquee showdown.

At WWE’s upcoming Night of Champions on June 28, Dominik Mysterio is set to defend his Intercontinental Championship against AJ Styles at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Tension within The Judgment Day has intensified since Mysterio’s title win at WrestleMania 41, particularly between him and faction leader Finn Balor.

With AJ Styles long eyeing the title and history with both Mysterio and Balor, fans are speculating a major shake-up. Rumors suggest that if Mysterio loses, Balor could turn on him and align with Styles, possibly introducing a new era for The Judgment Day and a fresh betrayal storyline.

Seth Rollins’ new faction may soon expand beyond its current lineup. Speculation is growing around the addition of Ricky Saints, a seasoned NXT star with past experience in AEW and real-life ties to Cody Rhodes.

A heel turn from Saints to join Rollins' group would not only surprise fans but also add depth to the storyline. With Saints’ in-ring credibility and history, his inclusion would strengthen the faction and mark a major turning point in his career, shifting from ally of Cody to a rising force on RAW under Rollins' leadership.
