WWE botches Green's moment, Graves' update & Reed contract status

Inside: Nick Aldis teases recruiting 21-year-old star to SmackDown

TOP STORIES TODAY

Chelsea Green has been on an important quest recently on WWE SmackDown. Unfortunately, a botch from WWE left her being cut off several times during her biggest moments of the night. The star has been unable to pick up the important wins. The Secret Hervice, now lacking Piper Niven, whose career might have ended for good, has not helped, as Alba Fyre has been alone in her support of Green. Adding another star to the Secret Hervice has been one of the biggest goals.

Tonight, she was offering the same chance to Zaria and Sol Ruca, and while they turned her down, there were some other issues. During the moment when she was making the offer to the two stars, WWE botched the stream several times. The audio and the video cut out a few times, with the screen going black and green at one point.

Nick Aldis was backstage quite a bit on SmackDown on October 3, and one of the more interesting interactions he had saw him tease a huge match against a 21-year-old star, who he said has a bright future. This week, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis was shown talking to the one and only Je'Von Evans. At 21 years old, Evans is considered one of the quick bloomers in the wrestling world and has already made rapid progress through NXT for the most part. Despite it not translating to championship success just yet, the general consensus is that he is one of the brightest future stars in all of WWE.

Michael Cole was left upset after he was interrupted by Booker T, who said that Corey Graves was “done” after the Brock Lesnar attack. Graves was absent once again on SmackDown tonight.

Cole was about to provide an update on Corey Graves, but Booker T was not having it and immediately said that the star was done. He said that after the Lesnar attack, Graves was finished, implying that he would never be returning.

FROM THE RUMOR MILL

There has been a massive update regarding Bronson Reed's WWE status. The 37-year-old is scheduled to compete in a huge tag team match during this week's episode of the blue brand. According to a new report from Fightful Select, Bronson Reed is part of the company's long-term plans. Fightful's report disclosed that a source informed the publication that Reed had re-signed with the promotion “quite a long time ago.”

It was also noted that the veteran signed a multi-year deal, and sources added that Reed had already put himself in a position to earn a new contract when his current deal expires.

WWE is returning to Australia on October 11 for Crown Jewel: Perth, featuring top superstars such as John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Seth Rollins, Rhea Ripley, and more. One star not on the card is Sydney-native Grayson Waller, who may have subtly confirmed he'll have a match in Perth.

As part of the promotion for the premium live event, Waller and Rhea Ripley sat down with Netflix Australia and New Zealand for a segment called "Yeah Nah, Nah Yeah' to promote Crown Jewel. For those unaware, it's the Australian version of '"Yes or No,'" with '"Yeah Nah'" as '"No'" and '"Nah Yeah'" as '"Yes.'"One of the questions was, "Doing a shoey when you win your next title match?" Grayson Waller answered Nah Yeah because it is an Australian celebration. Waller pointed to Rhea Ripley's win against Nia Jax last year at Elimination Chamber: Perth. The current New Day ally then teased being ready for a fight at Crown Jewel, possibly confirming he'll get a match in his home country.

Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and The Vision kicked off the latest episode of WWE SmackDown. The two sides also met in the main event, with Seth Rollins interfering to help Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed secure the win. The Miz turned on Carmelo Hayes after Hayes ended their partnership.

That attack cost the former NXT Champion another chance to challenge Sami Zayn for the United States Title. Stephanie Vaquer and Tiffany Stratton had a standard contract signing, but were interrupted by Kiana James and Giulia. Most of WWE's booking decisions moved things forward, but the next four mistakes were still made on SmackDown.
