On WWE RAW, The New Day were finally forced to defend their World Tag Team Championship against The Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh and Finn Bálor. Having rarely defended the titles since winning them, the champs brought unexpected aggression early in the match, surprising many fans with their viciousness.

Despite moments of dominance from The New Day, a critical mistake cost them the gold—Bálor accidentally hit JD with a Coup de Grâce, nearly handing the match to the champions. While Xavier Woods later struck Bálor with the title belt, a delayed count allowed the challenger to recover. In the end, an Avalanche Spanish Fly by McDonagh, followed by a successful Coup de Grâce sealed the victory, crowning The Judgment Day as the new World Tag Team Champions.

The Judgment Day had a dominant night on WWE RAW, as every member of the faction now holds championship gold. The evening kicked off with Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh defeating The New Day to become the new World Tag Team Champions. With that victory secured, attention turned to the Women’s Tag Team Championship situation following Liv Morgan’s injury.

Bálor and McDonagh proposed that Raquel Rodriguez retain her half of the title, with Roxanne Perez stepping in as Morgan’s replacement. Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce agreed to the change, setting a few conditions but ultimately approving the title handover. Later in the show, during a Judgment Day meeting, Bálor pushed for Perez to become a full-fledged member of the faction. Despite some hesitation from Dominik Mysterio and Rodriguez, the group voted in favor, and Roxanne Perez is now officially part of The Judgment Day.

On this week’s WWE RAW, Adam Pearce confirmed that Chad Gable, one of WWE’s top stars at 39 years old, has suffered an injury and will be undergoing surgery. Gable was seen backstage with his arm in a sling, officially marking his exit from on-screen action for the time being.

Pearce acknowledged the injury while also taking a jab at Gable’s masked alter ego, El Grande Americano. He sarcastically asked if that meant the “luchador” wouldn’t be appearing either. Gable, staying in character, replied that El Grande Americano has a busy schedule. The injury is believed to have stemmed from a lingering issue, though it was written into storylines through a backstage attack by Penta last week.

FROM THE RUMOR MILL

In a major development following WWE’s acquisition of AAA, BodySlam is reporting that Octagon Jr. has officially signed with WWE. The 34-year-old star, who had been a staple of AAA since 2018, has reportedly ceased taking independent bookings, signaling his full commitment to the Stamford-based promotion.

This comes on the heels of growing collaboration between the two companies, highlighted by the joint Worlds Collide 2025 event that featured top talent from both NXT and AAA. While the full acquisition is expected to finalize in Q3 of this year, WWE is already actively integrating AAA stars into its ecosystem, with Octagon Jr. now set to bring his high-flying style to a global stage.

The RAW following WWE Night of Champions quickly laid the groundwork for two upcoming major events: Saturday Night's Main Event and Evolution. One of the biggest announcements came when IYO SKY personally chose Rhea Ripley as her opponent for the all-women’s Evolution show, setting up a high-stakes clash between two top-tier talents.

Additionally, General Managers Nick Aldis and Adam Pearce confirmed a Fatal Four-Way Women's Tag Team Title Match for Evolution, following Roxanne Perez stepping in as Raquel Rodriguez’s new partner. On the men's side, a heated rivalry culminates in a marquee matchup as Seth Rollins is set to face LA Knight at Saturday Night's Main Event. While the episode was praised for its pacing and match setups, some fans noted minor booking inconsistencies and storytelling gaps that slightly dampened an otherwise strong post-PLE show.
