Reigns written off, Lesnar's return details & SummerSlam mistakes
Inside: Triple H sends out a message to John Cena

TOP STORIES TODAY
Roman Reigns was written off WWE RAW tonight due to an injury angle, and there’s a clear reason behind the decision. The Original Tribal Chief had only recently returned to television before SummerSlam, but fans will once again have to wait for his comeback. On RAW, Reigns attempted to stop a brutal beatdown by Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed on LA Knight and CM Punk. However, things took a turn as Reigns himself was ambushed. Rollins hit a devastating Stomp, Breakker followed with a massive Spear, and Reed delivered three crushing Tsunamis, leaving Reigns severely injured.
The real reason for this storyline exit is Reigns’ upcoming role in the filming of Street Fighter, which begins this month. WWE wrote him off to accommodate his movie commitments, and it may be a while before he returns to in-ring action.
Brock Lesnar is officially back in WWE, and his return at SummerSlam 2025 has already created massive buzz. After the main event on Night 2, Lesnar shocked everyone by attacking former champion John Cena. On the following episode of RAW, WWE confirmed the behind-the-scenes details of his comeback. According to Michael Cole, Brock Lesnar’s return was orchestrated by Triple H and WWE President Nick Khan, who contacted The Beast weeks ago. They reportedly told Lesnar that "it was time" for him to come back, and the decision had been made well in advance. Lesnar’s surprise return garnered over 75 million views across social media within the first 12 hours, an indicator of his star power. As for John Cena’s response, Cole revealed that the 17-time World Champion is set to address Lesnar’s attack this Friday on WWE SmackDown. | John Cena entered his final SummerSlam as the Undisputed WWE Champion but couldn’t hold onto the gold. In a brutal Street Fight at MetLife Stadium, Cena gave it his all, but Cody Rhodes prevailed, delivering a final Cross Rhodes after saluting The Cenation Leader to win the title. Following the emotional showdown, Triple H took to X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate Cody Rhodes on his victory. He praised Rhodes’ performance and went as far as to call him the future “Greatest of All Time,” acknowledging the symbolic passing of the torch from Cena to the new champion. |
FROM THE RUMOR MILL
Triple H may have decided to part ways with Karrion Kross and Scarlett as early as this weekend. While not officially confirmed, a report from Fightful Select suggests their futures in the company are uncertain following SummerSlam 2025. Despite a strong fan reaction during Kross' match against Sami Zayn and even post-show chants, WWE reportedly downplayed the moment, with Triple H redirecting attention toward Brock Lesnar instead.
The same report stated that neither Kross nor Scarlett appeared on the following episode of RAW and were not scheduled to be part of the show. More concerningly, backstage sources revealed that both stars' contracts are set to expire this weekend, and no new deals have been offered so far. Although it's not yet confirmed if WWE has officially decided not to renew their contracts, fans may be disappointed if the duo quietly exits the promotion.
TOP FEATURES
SummerSlam delivered great surprises, with one being the return of Brock Lesnar after nearly two years off TV. Night Two featured a brutal Street Fight between Cody Rhodes and John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship. After a hard-fought battle, Cody emerged victorious, but the celebration was short-lived. Lesnar made his return immediately after the match, sending a strong message by taking out Cena.
Following this development, there’s speculation that Brock Lesnar could reignite his rivalry with Cena, attacking him in the weeks to come. However, a more surprising twist could see Lesnar turn on Cody Rhodes, seeking revenge for his 2023 SummerSlam loss. If so, WWE might book an unexpected heel turn for John Cena, aligning him against Cody to set up a three-way feud. This could culminate in a blockbuster Triple Threat Match at Clash in Paris for the Undisputed WWE Championship, featuring Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar.
