R-Truth's feelings on his WWE departure revealed

Inside: Roman Reigns' contract being renegotiated and more

TOP STORIES TODAY

Truth's contract not being renewed stunned fans as it came just days after he had a high-profile match at Saturday Night's Main Event 2025, where he faced John Cena. Moreover, he wasn't the only one to be leaving WWE, as Carlito and later Sarah Logan also confirmed their departures. It was also revealed that Triple H had taken the final call on the names whose contracts wouldn't be renewed.

On a recent episode of the Road Trip After Hours podcast, Teddy Long disclosed that he had a chance to speak to R-Truth recently. Long revealed that the 53-year-old star was not disappointed with the company's decision.

WWE under TKO appears to be revamping its roster, having decided not to renew the contracts of R-Truth, Valhalla, and Carlito. Roman Reigns, considered the highest-paid wrestler, has seemingly come under scrutiny due to his part-time status.

While speaking on Lucha Libre Online, Spanish commentator Hugo Savinovich broke down Reigns' rumored $15 million salary. He doesn't believe the company would let him go, but stated that the Original Tribal Chief won't be making big bucks anymore.

The Second City Saint took on AJ Styles and El Grande Americano in a three-way match on RAW for a chance to qualify for the aforementioned ladder match. However, Rollins' stablemates Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed made their presence felt and took Punk out of the equation. The interference allowed Americano to capitalize and pin Styles.

With the crushing defeat, Punk lost his chance to compete in his first MITB match in years. Seth Rollins, however, believes he did the right thing by taking him out. Appearing on the Up & Adams Show, Rollins stated that CM Punk was a “bad dude” and that he made it a point to make sure he didn't qualify on RAW.

FROM THE RUMOR MILL

The Herald of Doomsday is enjoying a bit of a career resurgence on WWE's RAW brand despite limited in-ring action. Kross and Scarlett have remained relevant as fans demand a significant push for the married duo. The NYC native, currently feuding with Sami Zayn, was allowed to work indie matches this year: he beat Hammerstone in March to headline FSW's Chris Bey benefit show, then beat JR Kratos during WrestleMania Weekend at GCW/Josh Barnett's Bloodsport XIII. The start to 2025 was especially interesting as this is Kross' contract year.

WWE officials have not entered into contract negotiations with Kross, according to Fightful Select. Sources could not provide an update on whether or not WWE is interested in keeping Kross and Scarlett on the roster, but the latest backstage update indicates Kross still has time for a highly-anticipated push.
