WWE canceled plans for Drew McIntyre and major faction

TOP STORIES TODAY

Brock Lesnar has been absent from WWE since his intense bout against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023. His prolonged hiatus coincides with serious legal troubles that likely influenced TKO's decision to keep him off television. With over two years away from the ring, a return seems increasingly unlikely unless Lesnar is fully cleared of all allegations.

Despite being out of action, Lesnar appears to be staying in peak physical shape. A recent photo circulating online shows the former Universal Champion hitting the gym, looking as shredded as ever. While fans may miss The Beast, he seems content away from the spotlight.

In a recent appearance on Refin' It Up, Joe Coffey opened up about the scrapped plans involving Gallus and Drew McIntyre. According to Coffey, the group was slated for a main roster call-up where they would’ve worked closely with McIntyre. Unfortunately, those plans never materialized, and Gallus was recently released from WWE.

Coffey shared that there had been several hints pointing toward a permanent move to the main roster, and they genuinely believed it would happen. However, as time went on and nothing progressed, frustration began to build. Reflecting on the situation, he expressed disappointment over the missed opportunity.

It’s a rare occasion when wrestling fans get to see the mayor step back into the world of wrestling, but that’s exactly what’s happening at the upcoming Wrestling Under the Stars event. The Big Red Machine, Kane, has made only a handful of appearances in recent years, choosing to stay largely out of the spotlight since taking on his political role.

Now, fans will have a special opportunity to meet the WWE Hall of Famer during a meet-and-greet hosted by Northeast Wrestling. Also scheduled to appear are familiar faces like MVP, Matt Riddle, Isla Dawn, Arn Anderson, and several other wrestling legends.

FROM THE RUMOR MILL

Liv Morgan sustained a separated shoulder during her recent match against Kairi Sane on Monday Night RAW. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, sources within WWE have confirmed that the injury will require surgery, sidelining Morgan for an extended period.

As a result, Morgan is expected to miss several months of in-ring action. Her unexpected injury has reportedly forced WWE to adjust creative plans moving forward. With Morgan previously featured prominently on television, the promotion will now have to rework ongoing storylines in her absence.

Randy Orton made a thunderous return to WWE last week on SmackDown, picking up a major win in the opening round of the 2025 King of the Ring tournament. The Viper defeated his opponent to secure a spot in the semifinals, marking his first match since his Backlash loss to John Cena earlier this year.

Up next, Orton is set to battle Sami Zayn for a chance to reach the tournament finals. However, speculation is swirling that Drew McIntyre—an old rival—may return to cost Orton the match. Their storied history adds intrigue, making a possible McIntyre interference a compelling twist.
