Braun Strowman has finally broken his silence on his WWE release, months after parting ways with the company.

The former Universal Champion was let go in May, reportedly due to his high salary, and recently completed his 90-day non-compete clause. Responding to a fan on X who questioned why WWE still featured him in the Unreal Netflix docuseries despite releasing him, Strowman bluntly stated that the company made a “stupid business decision” by letting him go. Now a free agent, Strowman remains one of the most sought-after names in pro wrestling.

Independent wrestling legend Robbie Ellis has passed away at the age of 82. Known for his decades-long career across promotions like Chikara, New England Championship Wrestling, and the Millennium Wrestling Federation, Ellis was a beloved figure in the New England and Mid-Atlantic wrestling scenes.

Outside the ring, he was equally renowned as an art dealer and co-owner of Barridoff Galleries, earning fame as “the art dealer who wrestles.” His unique dual career was chronicled in the documentary Canvasman: The Robbie Ellis Story. Ellis passed away on August 7, 2025, leaving behind a lasting legacy in both the wrestling and art worlds.

FROM THE RUMOR MILL

Ilja Dragunov may finally be on the verge of returning to WWE after more than a year away due to injury. Drafted to RAW last year, Dragunov quickly made his mark with standout performances, including competing in the King of the Ring tournament. Unfortunately, his momentum was halted after he tore his ACL during a live event match against Gunther, sidelining him for nearly a year.

Now, Cory Hays has hinted that the 31-year-old’s comeback is close, posting a GIF of Dragunov along with a message suggesting that his return is “drawing near.” Fans could soon see The Mad Dragon back in action.

Roman Reigns’ WWE future might be facing uncertainty despite his advertised appearances. After returning to in-ring action at SummerSlam 2025 in a tag team match alongside Jey Uso, Reigns was brutally beaten down on the post-SummerSlam RAW by The Vision and his allies. The segment led many to believe Triple H could be writing him off TV.

However, WWE has since confirmed that Reigns will be part of next week’s RAW and Clash in Paris 2025. Even so, backstage chatter suggests the Undisputed Tribal Chief may be “in trouble” for undisclosed reasons, raising questions about whether his current run could be affected in the near future.

ANALYSIS CORNER

RAW could very well match SmackDown’s momentum by locking in a marquee Clash in Paris bout this week. Post-SummerSlam, several storylines have already begun to heat up. Seth Rollins finds himself in the crosshairs of LA Knight, CM Punk, and Roman Reigns, suggesting a possible multi-man match or high-profile singles clash for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Stephanie Vaquer is officially set to challenge for the Women’s World Championship, so her opponent could be confirmed on RAW. Other simmering rivalries, such as Gunther’s comeback path or tag title pursuits, may also be solidified for the PLE. Given WWE’s push to make Clash in Paris feel as big as WrestleMania-caliber events, RAW announcing a blockbuster match, perhaps involving Punk, Knight, or Reigns, would mirror the hype created by Cena vs. Logan Paul.
