Drew McIntyre made a thunderous return on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, targeting his former rivals Randy Orton and Cody Rhodes. Interrupting their post–King of the Ring face-off, McIntyre mocked their exchange and made it clear he was back to shake things up.

Declaring that “Beta Male Energy” had overtaken WWE, the Scottish Warrior dubbed himself “The Alpha” and claimed he had returned to save the company. With McIntyre now squarely in the title picture, tensions are bound to rise as SummerSlam draws closer.

The faction formerly known as the New Bloodline is no more. On SmackDown, Solo Sikoa officially introduced a new name for the group, My Family Tree (MFT).

This announcement came after Tala Tonga (fka Hikuleo) made his debut at Night of Champions, aligning with Sikoa and Tonga Loa to help dethrone Jacob Fatu. During his promo, Solo emphasized that this faction was “nothing like The Bloodline,” calling it more dangerous and tightly knit. With MFT now established, a new era of Samoan dominance is underway on the blue brand.

On SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton named WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus as her opponent for Evolution 2025, taking full advantage of her right to choose, just like IYO SKY did on RAW. The decision came shortly after Stratton’s intense Last Woman Standing victory over Nia Jax.

However, Jade Cargill didn’t hold back her reaction. The top contender, set to challenge for the title at SummerSlam, interrupted Stratton’s celebration and dismissed her choice. Jade confidently declared that no matter who holds the championship after Evolution, she’ll be walking out of SummerSlam as the new WWE Women’s Champion.

FROM THE RUMOR MILL

Roman Reigns has been off WWE TV for over two months, but his return may be just around the corner. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com, the original plan was for the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion to return in time for a major SummerSlam storyline.

With The Biggest Party of the Summer now just four weeks away, fans can likely expect Reigns to reappear very soon to kick off his next high-stakes feud on the road to the August spectacle.

WWE Night of Champions 2025 concluded with John Cena standing tall as the Undisputed WWE Champion, defeating CM Punk in what’s being touted as their final showdown. While he is officially slated to defend the gold against Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam, his reign may face an unexpected hurdle before then.

During the chaotic Saudi Arabia main event, Cena was ambushed by Seth Rollins’ faction and nearly dethroned via a Money in the Bank cash-in. But Penta and Sami Zayn intervened, foiling the plan. In the aftermath, Cena delivered a highlight-reel Attitude Adjustment to Bronson Reed, drawing massive crowd reactions. That act of humiliation may have lit a fire in Reed, one that could lead to an unscheduled title challenge ahead of SummerSlam.
